Blessing of the Animals

Sunday, October 1st, 3:00 p.m.

Animal lovers, join St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in celebrating it's 150th year!

The celebration honors St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and one of the earliest environmentalists.  You and your beloved pets will receive a blesing, and we will affirm the role of animals in Creation and Salvation.  Joining in the celebration will be Pacific Wildlife Care, who rescue and rehabiliate wild animal,s with some of their beautiful animals and birds who were unable to return to the wild; and Woods Humane Society, who do tireless work on behalf of domestic animals who are in need of rescue, care and adoption here in SLO County.

This free event will take place at Emerson Park in SLO at Pismo and Nipomo Streets across from the church.

Please bring a folding chair or picnic blanket for your comfort.  Pets should be on a leash or in a carrier.  Dog sitters will be available for animals that might be over-stimulated by the exhibits.

We encourage you to walk, bike or take SLO Transit bus #2 which stops at the park/church.  Parking is available on the street or at the church parking lot at 650 Pismo St.
